i would agree with you that these guys are just another label-manufactured band, had it not been for the fact that i've grown up with all of them. jdog and johnny3 rolled by my crib the 2nd day their shit blew up saying "dude, look at how many plays we got" in total shock and mystery.
they started HU as a joke, making fun of the scene, and all of their sceney friends in the hollywwod club scene. the only thing that makes them scene is the fact that each and every one of them have made frequent use of myspace.com to meet and hump so many fine young scenegirls.
as far as their music, they write all of their own lyrics, and tha producer writes, composes, and arranges all of the music.
the fact that they caught on so quickly in the music world does definitly put them in the next-best-thing-phase catagory, but i asure you......once you listen to the new record (out around may 2007) you will see why they've earned their title.
but don't stop hating on them by any means, because every good band needs a small army of haters to spread the word about the band.
